Fields to lead Australia in ICC Women`s World Cup


Victoria, Dec 28 (IANS) Sydney cricketer Jodie Areas will lead her side in the future ICC Females Globe Cup to be organised in Native indian from Jan 31 to Feb 17.

Cricket Australia's (CA) Females Nationwide Choice Board (WNSP) Saturday declared the 15-player group for the competition will take place at four locations in Mumbai.

The following is the squad: Jodie Areas (C), Alex Blackwell (VC), Jess Cameron, Debbie Coyte, Mom Ferling, Rachael Haynes, Alyssa Healy, Jules Seeker, Jess Jonassen, Meg Lanning, Erin Osborne, Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, Lisa Sthalekar, Elyse Villani.

Commenting on the group, WNSP seat of selectors Jules Savage said: "The WNSP have chosen a highly effective and well-balanced group to competition the ICC Females Globe Cup Native indian 2013."

"Recent worldwide suits recommend this will be a very carefully competitive occasion. Britain, as the No.1 rated group, will be the competition favorites, but the latest form of a resurgent New Zealand, as well as Native indian on their home pitch and the strongly fitness Western Native indian group will provide challenging competitions throughout the whole occasion."
